  • The removal of teeth from the dental socket in the alveolar bone is called dental extraction or tooth extraction or tooth pulling.
  • When teeth cannot be decayed tooth can’t be restored, there is a periodontal disease or dental trauma, toothache, etc. it is advisable for dental extraction.
  • When basic treatments like cleaning, antibiotics and operculectomy fail to give results and cause recurrent infections of the gum, impacted wisdom teeth are removed.
  • In orthodontics, if the teeth are crowded, healthy teeth may be extracted (often bicuspids) to create space so the rest of the teeth can be straightened.
