Ceramic Veneers
- Ceramic veneers also called Porcelain veneers or dental laminates are thin shells like the size of a wafer which are made from dental ceramic and bonded onto the front side of teeth of a patient. The thickness is approximately .5 to .6 mm thick.
- Ceramic Veneers are commonly used to make adjustments in color, shape and position of the teeth. It improves problems with discolored, worn, chipped, misaligned and malformed teeth.
- So teeth that are discolored, worn, chipped, malformed, have spaces between them or are slightly misaligned, as well as those that have any combination of these problems, can all be improved.
- A full veneer crown restoration covers all the coronal tooth surfaces (Mesial, Distal, Facial, Lingual and Occlusal). On the contrary, Ceramic veneer is a thin layer covering only the surface of the tooth. Hence it is commonly used for aesthetic purposes. Ceramic Veneer have better performance and aesthetics and also are less retentive to formation of plaque.
